Volleyball Districts! We will be hosting the district quarter final game in Chassell on Monday, November 4th @ 6:00 PM vs. L'Anse. The Panthers XC team wrapped up their regular season on Thursday at the Copper Mountain Conference Final in Ironwood. In the MS boys race, Benett Larson placed 7th and Karl Zimmer placed 4th. In the MS girls race, Kate Palosaari placed 8th and Kayla Aho placed 7th. In the varsity boys race, Rylan Larson placed 33rd, Seamus Kenny placed 31st, Henry Holombo placed 29th, Nick Aho placed 21st, and Kalvin Kytta placed 1st with his winning time of 17:00. In the varsity girls race, Clare Zimmer placed 29th, Lily Etelamaki placed 14th, Paige Danison placed 12th, Jordan Holombo placed 11th, and Sylvia Aho placed 3rd. Copper Mountain Conference All-Conference Honors were also determined at the conclusion of the meet. Second Team All-Conference: Lily Etelamaki and Jordan Holombo First Team All-Conference: Sylvia Aho, Kalvin Kytta CMC Runner of the Year: Kalvin Kytta Congratulations, Panthers! Next week, the team will finish up their 2024 season with MS Regionals in Houghton on Tuesday and HS U.P. Finals in Munising on Saturday.

Our 8th grade science students spent Thursday afternoon as citizen scientists! It was a beautiful day to collect macroinvertebrates and assess the health of the Pilgrim River!

Our elementary students had a blast getting lost in the Palosaari Corn Maze this week! A big thanks to Karen Palosaari and family for the wagon rides, maze, and good times!

We're excited about the arrival of new STEM equipment we were able to acquire through successful grant awards in the areas of Computer Science (CS) and Computational Thinking (CT)! We also received grant funding for teacher professional development in CS and CT that we're utilizing this year!

Congratulations, Class of 2024!

Congratulations to Chassell junior, Kalvin Kytta (pictured left) for breaking the school record in the 3200m Run at yesterday's Houghton County Invitational track meet in Calumet! His record-breaking time was 10:16.55 The previous record of 10:19.20 was set in 2021 by Kalvin's older brother, Kolson (pictured right), also one of Kalvin's current coaches. With a few meets left this season, Kalvin aims to continue shaving time off of what's now his record. Way to go, Kalvin!
